Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
Bad tackle for sure but you can't go around retaliating like that

If he wins I hope Paolo is watching ;-)

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
Barnes played the ball, it was Matic's fault for being too late, hence why nobody else was in uproar until Matic went for Barnes. Zouma and various other Chelsea players were near and didn't react to the 'tackle' at all.

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
Why is a push now a red card and a potential career ending tackle...not a red card?

Why is a penalty now also potentially sending off?

Both as ridiculous as reporting to the Police that you were offended by a group of people singing a song, when you were not there yourself to witness the incident or indeed...be offended.

FUCK OFF..

Wasn't Rooney's ban reduced to two matches when he got sent off for England?

That's exactly how I saw it.
In real time that's how it was. Pundit's who have played the game got it wrong.
Good article in the Guardian backs Dyche.

I wouldn't mind this man at my club.
Whether he is ready to take a club like ours the next step upwards is up to the two Dave's to work out.

Have heard of 3 match bans being wiped out but has one ever been reduced to 1 or 2 matches before?
He misses our game which is all that REALLY matters

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
How does that work? Surely it is a 3 match ban. Possibly a one match one or even four if the FA thought the appeal was poor but this appears to set a precedent

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
Am I right thinking that because the ref gave a free kick but didn't book Barnes the FA can't punish him retrospectively because it means the ref did see the foul? Dreadful tackle but it would be a recipe for anarchy if Matic's appeal is upheld, he has to get an extra game for a frivolous appeal. They must be working on some way to stop the hearing taking place this week so he can play in the LC final.

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
There was no tackle, it was a collision.
Matic went to close him down, was a bit late, and copped Barnes foot on the follow through from making a pass.

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
He has just pushed the bloke who nearly broke his leg......3 game ban seems harsh

Much rather see that then him roll around for 10 minutes like Valencia and Kouyate do alot

With regard to Barnes, he is trying to get the ball but got their late, has gone through Matic and could of been nasty, poorly timed yes....malicious in it with intent to snap his leg no

Stop the knicker wetting and move on

Dyche is a fat headed ginger Millwall prick.

You can't excuse that tackle on any level.

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card

I'm with Sean Dyche on this anyway. Barnes passed the ball and Matic's got there a bit late and ran in to his foot on its follow through.

Sorry but that foul was an absolute scandal. a leg breaker and he should be getting a 3 match ban for it - Matic rightly so gets a 3 game ban for reacting.

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
He should have clumped him. This sudden rush of blood then nothing but a girly shove is pathetic.

Do a Duncan Ferguson and knock the cunt out.

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
Regardless of the bad tackle I don't see any scenario where getting up and angrily pushing player over can be allowed. Where would it stop otherwise? At least, if video reff'ing was going on then the player committing the foul might have gone. Then it's a question of length of ban. Perhaps one for Matic and for the foul etc.

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
The only thing that should happen is a ban for the tackle. The reaction, though partly justified, is still a red card offence. Otherwise it's almost carte Blanche for a fouled player to do whatever he wants!!!

Re: Chelsea to appeal Matic's red card
I don't get all this bollocks that if a ref see's it the outcome can't be changed.

Why?

If you make a mistake in work, it would get rectified. You wouldn't just go, oh yeah he saw that it was a mistake so that is that, can't be changed now.

If a ref get's a decision wrong, which he did do, he didn't even give Barnes a yellow for that tackle, it should be reviewed and rectified, i.e 3 game ban.

Matic was within his rights to push him to the ground, that still is a red mind.
